
Aviri Kudumu Recipe
Aviri Kudumu is a traditional recipe in the Telugu states that dates back many years. Aviri kudumulu is a healthy food that can be easily made at home for breakfast or even as an evening snack. The process of making Aviri Kudumu is very simple and the duration for making Aviri Kudumulu won't take more than 30 minutes. Follow the Aviri Kudumu making process and enjoy the tasty dish.
Ingredients
- 250 gms Urad Dal
- 250 gms Idly Ravva
- Table Salt or Sea Salt – As per your taste
Instructions
- Soak Urad Dal and Idly Ravva in water for 6 Hours (or overnight)
- Strain the water from the Idly Ravva.
- Add a small amount of water to the Urad Dal and grind it into a soft paste. This can be done using a grinder or mixer.
- Transfer the Urad dal batter into a bowl. Add Idly ravva and sufficient salt, then mix well.
- Now, take a bowl with a narrow neck and add one-third of the water. Cover the top with a smooth cloth and tightly tie the neck of the bowl with another cloth. Ensure that the cloth cover is wrinkle-free.
- Place two serving spoons of batter on top of the cloth and spread it evenly
- Place the bowl on the stove over low to medium flame, cover it with a lid and cook for 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, check whether it is cooked properly. If not, continue cooking for another 10 minutes. Now, remove from the stove and gently detach the cloth.
- Carefully transfer it onto a plate. Aviri Kudumu is ready. Slice it and enjoy your meal.
