Khoya Recipe
Khoya, also known as Mawa or Kova, is an essential ingredient for preparing many sweets & curries. This Khoya recipe will help you avoid making trips to sweet shops or stores to obtain Khoya. You can create Mawa or Khoya at home using just one ingredient: full cream milk. Follow the simple steps outlined in the Khoya Recipe video.
1 liter of full cream milk gives you approximately 200 grams of Khoya.
Ingredients
- 1 ltr Full Cream Milk
Instructions
- Pour 1 liter of full cream (high-fat) milk into a vessel and bring it to a boil over a high flame.
- Stir every 2-3 minutes and use a spatula to scrape the edges; otherwise, the bottom of the vessel will burn.
- Keep stirring until the milk is reduced and becomes thicker.
- After some time, the milk will gradually start to reduce. It will take approximately 45-60 minutes to obtain Khoya.
- When the milk mixture becomes very thick, stir it for an additional 2-3 minutes and then turn off the stove.
- Let it cool, and press the mixture with a spatula for 5 minutes to achieve a soft texture, as shown in the Khoya Recipe video.
